Weekly meal planning and grocery shopping — either accompanying the client to the supermarket or shopping independently to a provided list. We track budgets, check expiry dates, and ensure the kitchen is always well stocked.
Preparing larger quantities of nutritious meals that can be portioned and frozen for days when a support worker is not present. This ensures clients always have a wholesome option available, reducing reliance on ready meals.
Actively encouraging adequate fluid intake throughout visits — a critical but easily overlooked aspect of health for older adults. Support workers are trained to recognise signs of dehydration and respond appropriately.
Identifying minor household issues — dripping taps, loose fittings, faulty bulbs — and coordinating with appropriate tradespeople on behalf of the client or family. We act as a trusted point of contact for home maintenance.
Setting up and managing online grocery accounts, placing regular delivery orders, and ensuring substitutions are appropriate. Particularly valuable for clients who cannot leave the house or who find in-store shopping overwhelming.
